I got a license for Essentials Pack in the mail. When I install it (upload license), I am geting a "There are no valid licenses installed for this product" message. I tried twice, made sure the server ID was OK, but with both keys I get the same error.

I see from our licensing system that you have generated three licenses in total for two different server IDs. In all three cases you have entered your server ID with 15 characters, however a valid server ID contains 16. Please generate a new license with the correct and full server ID ensuring you don't omit the last character.

I got a valid license, install it. The license icons turn to green. When I try to use the Backup Manager (previously installed), I get this message:
This plugin requires a license. Please acquire a license from the Plugin Licensing Manager.

I'd recommend removing any of the previously installed licenses and then restarting Confluence. This shouldn't matter as the PLM is designed to apply valid licenses over others, but this might be an issue with the previous license problem. If you continue to encounter issues, a copy of your Confluence log will help us understand the context and cause of the problem. Thanks.
